The front of the business is usually the first thing a customer, or potential customer, sees when they approach your store.  What do you want them to see?  Stains on the windows windows that look like they are cleaned “whenever the business has time”? Or spotless windows that allow you to see the employees, customers, and merchandise?  I think its fair to assume, you chose the latter.

The easiest way to guarantee clean windows on a regular basis is hiring a reputable window cleaning company, but there are many things to consider when choosing with company to hire.

Below is some helpful tips on how to choose the right commercial window cleaning company to clean your windows

  1. Is the company fully insured? – This is incredibly important for everyone to ask, in case something happens on your property.  If you don’t ask, and the company does not have insurance, you may be legally and financially responsible for anything that happens on your property.
  2. Do they have their Fall Arrest certification? – A lot of window cleaning is done off ladders, platforms or ropes and chairs ( high rise buildings ).  This means there is a risk of possibly falling increases. If working from heights employees must have their Fall Arrest certification to ensure they are properly trained to work safely from heights.
  3. How long have they been in business? – Calling around to find the cheapest price, isn’t the best way to choose a window cleaning company.  New companies trying to get into the window cleaning industry tend to price window cleanings lower than established companies to gain clientele.  But if they are brand new, how much experience can they have?  Established companies tend to cost a little more, but you are paying for experience and quality which only time and reputation can help build.
  4. Read. Read. Read. – Take a look at the company’s website.  Does it look professional? Are there reviews on it? If so, are they good?  Do a little investigating into the company and see if any friends or relatives have used them in the past. If so, how was their experience? How was the scheduling process?  Did the company provide high quality of workmanship? Were the workers dressed professionally? Did they communicate in a respectable and professional manner? How was the customer service?

Thanks for the terrific article. My father has some windows on his home that are rather hard to reach and he’s been considering hire a service to clean them. You wrote that you should choose a business that has been in business for a while, as it means they are established and trusted within the company. If my father could find a reliable service that way, he could save himself from having to climb up on the roof and risk getting himself hurt.
