The Purple Cow
While driving past a farmer’s field, what do you usually see? A barn? A farm house? Open Land? Fields? Cows? A Silo? You have probably driven past several and just continued driving because nothing seems out of the ordinary.
What if you were driving past a farmer’s field and you noticed there was a Purple Cow standing amongst the rest of the herd? What would you do? Would you stop? Would you take a picture? I’m sure that cow would be on social media quicker than Usain Bolt running the 100 metre dash.
After reading The Purple Cow by Seth Godin, Jason Huber, owner of Huber Window Cleaning, decided to take the principles of the book and apply it to the crews. The key to success is to stand out, and be the Purple Cow. Not only has he applied this to Huber Window Cleaning, but wanted to take it a step further and use it with the crews.
It is very easy to become complacent in a job. Day after day, doing essentially the same thing. The environment and people may change, but the job just never does. By using the Purple Cow as a symbol; standing out and going the extra mile on the job site, Jason is trying to create a culture within Huber Window Cleaning where going the extra mile and doing all the little things is second nature. He is trying to not only brighten the windows of all of our customers but also brighten their day.
This page is dedicated to the crew members who have taken it upon themselves to do more than whats expected and brighten the days of the customers they service.
